What We Do‎ > ‎

Music

Historically, 85 Squadron ATC has always had a strong Cadet band. From playing at local events such as fundraising and school fetes, to playing in large parades such as the Remembrance Sunday Parade in Enfield Town and Southgate.

If you are an expert trumpeter, never picked up an instrument before or just a music lover, our band offers an opportunity to learn something new, build relationships with other cadets and take pride in doing something different.

"Our band is an amazing opportunity open to any cadet within the squadron. We have all enjoyed playing at parades, both with the Northern Area Band which is made up of band members from all the squadrons in north Middlesex, to playing at the Armed Forces day Parade in Enfield Town. By joining the band, it has given us the confidence to try new things as well as being the centre of attention when everyone is watching you. "
- FS Patel
Some of the parades which we have performed at include the Battle of Britain parade, Remembrance Sunday, Armed Forces Day, Families Day at RAF Northolt.  There is also a band competition at our Wing Field Day as well as many Corps run band camps.

All of these are great opportunities for the cadets to build confidence and take pride in wearing the RAF uniform and representing not just themselves, but also the Air Training Corps as a Whole.
